St. Albans is a ancient city in the same location of the Roman City of Verulamium. Before this it was a tribal city of the ancient British tribe of the Catevellauni. It is a beautiful town and was home to the  Monk Bede, who wrote the first history of the English people. It is home to a Cathedral of St Albans, go to the link to see the pictures of the Cathedral. Below are a few pictures of the city. King John was held prisoner here after his capture during the battle with the French. This was where The Magna Charter was first drawn up here.
