Apsley House, the Duke of Wellington, beautiful home was constructed in 1771-78 by Lord Apsley, the Lord Chancellor of England. The house was purchased by the Duke of Wellington in 1817 from his brother, Richard.  It now houses the Dukes collection of over 200 paintings, including 83 which the Duke captured from the retreating Joseph Bonaparte from Spain. This is a great house and museum. The last pictures are from the Duke's trophy room.
